Reclaimed Space!

I know it does not look a lot, but for about two years for various reasons I have not been able to use my box room. Last week whilst in my shed I rediscovered an old small fold down table which belonged to my friends mother that she gave me about twenty five years ago, my friends mother passed away a few weeks ago, but I am sure she would be pleased it has been found a use again. So at the weekend I made a space for it upstairs and now have a space I can call my own to craft and be able to leave all my bits out. The next mammoth task is to sort out all my craft stash and label up with my new Brother label machine and then I actually may be able to know what I have actually got and where to find it.

Here is the first card I have made at my new craft space, it is for the wedding of my niece this coming Friday. The figures and sentiment are wooden buttons which I coloured with pro markers, they were purchased at the recent craft show at the Glow Bluewater, and the hearts are a punch from Stampin Up.

The above five cards were recently made at a Stampin Up day class by http://kimfeecrafter.blogspot.co.uk
the class was very good value a £40 which included a stamp set, blender pen and all the card and papers for the above cards together with lunch, my favourite is the bird one which was done with a punch. I am off to another Christmas class this saturday so will try and blog my efforts next week

Hollie is now seven months old and is having a manicure by Mummy here, she has now started nursery as her Mummy has started college.

A Catch Up

Nearly the end of July already and I haven't blogged since April!
Have been keeping up to date with other peoples blogs who are much better at it than me.
So just going to make this a heavy photo post of the craft projects that I have managed in the last few months.

The two layouts above are done with kits from scrapology-adventuresinscrapbooking.blogspot.co.uk the pink one is my niece with her son Ethan her friend did a photo shoot for her with an old sheet as the backdrop, you would never guess though.

The second layout was a jubilee theme but as I had no jubilee photographs I used photographs of my border collie who just happens to be called Blue.

Below are recent cards that I have made.

Thank you cards for Ethan and Brookes teachers made with my new Stamping Up owl punch.

Birthday card for Josie made from the kit from the cardinal colours retreat 2011.

And last but not least the gorgeous Hollie.

That Time Of Year Again

Cannot believe that a whole year has gone by already, and that it will shortly be Easter again.
As my sister was coming up from Luton last Sunday for dinner, on Saturday evening at about 10.30pm I thought I had better make a start on Ethan and Brookes Easter bonnets for school so that she could take them back with her, so I knew they had them in case I cannot get up there before Easter.

Ethans was made using my doodlebug cartridge on the cricut machine with stars and a ladybird from my stash.
Brookes was made with some of the bunnies, flowers, brads and ladybirds from my stash and the pink bunny ears from good old Poundland.

The above photograph of my layout completed at the Scrapology monthly crop is not the best, but as always in a rush. The photograph is of my daughter Beth and her friends as they left their secondary school a couple of years ago. I love the colours of the papers, which are layered up to give dimension but this cannot really be seen from the photograph.

For details of the papers used visit http://scrapology-adventuresinscrapbooking.blogspot.com/
and to see details of their latest monthly challenges.

Organised Me! and Tommys Christening

For once I am organised, will it last, shouldn't think so for one minute.
My sister's birthday is on the 10th March and her card has been ready for over a week.

Once again I used papers from the Kaiser Craft Bonjour Pad, Lace, Prima flower and candi from stash. the sentiment flower and butterflies are layered up on foam pads to give dimension.
I am entering this card on the Lace and Butterflies challenge over at
Going Buggy http://going-buggy.blogspot.com/2012/02/winners-of-first-challenge-and-new.html .

On the 19th February my daughter Beth was Godmother to her second cousin Tommy.
The service was held at St Marys, Stone, Kent. The church was beautiful although very cold. Below are some photos of the day and the cards I made for Tommy from myself and Beth.

First 8 x 8 Scrapbook Page

I have decided to start a scrapbook for Hollie and have gone for a 8 x 8 book and here is my first 8 x 8 page that I have ever done.

I once again used papers from the Kaiser Craft Bonjour 61/2 x 61/2 pad but this time chose the more modern papers.
I cut sixteen 2 inch by 2 inch squares inked the edges and adhered to my backing card.
I mounted Hollies photo on pale pink polka dot embossed card and placed over a pale pink chiffon ribbon to which I added a metal embellishment with the words a perfect moment.
The banner was cut from a Stampin Up punch and chipboard lettering was inked and added.
The announcement lettering was cut on the cricut machine with a winnie the pooh font cartridge.
The butterfly was cut from a Martha Stewart punch and the baby's bottle was from my stash.

Scrapology February Challenge

On Sunday 12th February 2012 I spent a very enjoyable day at the Scrapology  crop http://scrapology-adventuresinscrapbooking.blogspot.com/. I completed my layout for their February challenge as well as having a lovely lunch prepared by Linda's husband Robert, having luck in the raffle winning not one but two lovely prizes and good company, what more could a glrl wish for.

This is my completed layout of my Mum taken in 1941 aged 1year and 11 months, she does have a middle name of Kathleen, which, I did cut out on the cricut machine but changed my mind about using them as I remembered she always said there is no point on having a second name as you never use it, consequently myself and my brother and sister do not have one.

I used the following to complete my layout:

1 Sheet plain Bazzill Card
Bazzill Cardstock in Tickled Pink, Black and Sprout
6 ½” x 6 ½” Paper Pad, Kaiser Craft Bonjour (24 sheets – 10 specialty Papers including 2 foil, 4 spot varnish and 4 die cuts).
Cricut with Storybook and Mother’s Day Bouquet Cartridges
Martha Stewart Butterfly border punch
Brads

I cut  sixteen 3 inch squares from the papers in the Kaiser Craft Bonjour paper pad and adhered them to my Bazzil card and did the cross stitch with an easy sew template. I then matted my photograph on black Bazzil card and punched the butterfly borders out and adhered to the layout. Lettering, background and flowers were then cut using the Storybook and Mother'd Day cartridges on the cricut machine. Letters layered up and flowers made up and fixed with brads in the centre to hold together.

I will certainly use this style layout again but next time hopefully all my squares will be the same size!

WELCOME TO OUR WORLD

My first grandaughter was born yesterday the 2nd February 2012 at 11.12am by emergency caesarean and came into the world weighing 5lb 5oz, which is actually more than her Dad who weighed 4lb 7oz and her Mum who was 3lb something. She is in special care at the moment as her blood sugar levels have dropped.

Below are a couple of cards that I made for her, one from myself and her Grandad and one from her Aunty Beth

May I wish you Love, Luck and Laughter xxxxxxxxx

CHRISTMAS 2011

One again Christmas has come and gone for another year, Emma, Ethan and Brooke once again spent the Christmas with us, coming up to stay the week before. On the 19th December we visited www.create-inn.com in Crayford Kent where the children chose some pottery and then set about decorating them with paints. Brooke chose a cup cake trinket box which she wanted to do as a christmas present for her Nan, Ethan chose a Mickey Mouse figure.

I just love the look of concentration on their faces.

Christmas Eve I had strict instructions from Brooke that she wanted to make a yule log, as I am no cook we cheated slightly and brought a swiss roll so she could decorate it.

I tried to be organised with making my Christmas cards this year but failed miserably never seem to get any me time, however, did manage a few.

They were mostly made with freebies from card magazines. Must try harder next year!
