Did Say My Space Occasionally!

When I started my blog I called it My Space Occasionally and that certainly what it has been lately. So time to move on and have a catch up.

This week has been a week of good byes, firstly my old car that I have had for about ten years has gone. Unfortunately the person I sold it to who does cars up and sells them, sold it someone up my road, so still have to see it everyday, so that 's not good as I never wanted to get rid of it anyway.

Secondly my daughter Beth jetted off to sunny Kavos for six weeks with her friend Harrie. They are staying in a hotel for a week and then moving into a house and will look for some work. Will miss her, still will get me ready for when she goes off to university in September.

22nd April 2011

The 22nd April 2011 was my birthday and the day was spent with my Daughter Beth.

We caught the ten o'clock train to Charing Cross and halfway through the journey there my mobile rang and despite my efforts to tell my sister I was on a packed train I had my sister, her partner and my nephew singing Happy Birthday to me, hence I could feel myself getting redder and redder, the other passengers probably wondered what was going on.

Once at Charing Cross we emerged into brilliant sunshine and headed off to Covent Garden and had a leisurely wander around the stalls and shops and watched a couple of the street shows.

We then headed off to Trafalgar Square and on to St James Park, walked the whole length of the Mall past Buckingham Palace and down to Big Ben. We then passed Downing Street and made our way to the London Eye which was packed with people everywhere. We then went in The South Bank and I was treated to lunch by Beth which we took and sat down in the ballroom hall and watched a dance show for half an hour.

After lunch and a welcome sit down we found our way along the embankment and once again made our way to Covent Garden where I was treated again to an ice cream. We then headed back to Charing Cross and caught the 5 o'clock train home.

I had a brilliant day in lovely bright sunshine.

Easter Bonnet and Mothers Day

Seems that I have become the official annual Easter bonnet maker as my Mum can no longer fill her obligations. So Saturday entailed a trip to my sisters house with a bag a goodies and two hats and this is Brooke in one of the finished results, hope Mum approves.

So to Mothers Day which I have been dreading as it was the first one where I have not had my Mum around. However I spent a wonderful afternoon with my daughter Beth, we walked Blue down by the river for an hour and then on our return she cooked me a lovely dinner.

After dinner I even made time to make a couple of cards, one for my god daughter Amy and one for a lovely lady called Chrissie who has given me a great deal of support over the last couple of years.

I used Molly Bloom stamps which were a free gift from Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine and papers from Daisy and Dandelion Picnic Patch paper collection.

Love and Miss You Mum x

FIRST DOUBLE LAYOUT

This is my first attempt at a double layout and I am very pleased with the result.
The pages are a scrap lift from the January challenge at http://scrapology-adventuresinscrapbooking.blogspot.com

The papers I used were a collection paper pack from My Mind Eye I Believe, the pack contains nine sheets of double sided paper and a page of die cut card shapes. The flowers are cut from one of the sheets of paper and mounted on small foam pads, border punches were used and the title Christmas Joy is chipboard painted with a dabber.

The photographs are of my great nephew and niece Ethan and Brooke at my house on Christmas Day 2010  opening their presents. I particularly like the second photograph in from the left, if you look carefully it is like Brooke is saying "what's he got is it better than what I have".

Random

Just wanted to share a photograph of an old singer sewing machine I came across on my travels a couple of weeks ago.
Have no idea how old it is and would love to have more time to do some research, can anyone let me have any more information about this?
